Practical Math

This is for my brother, who has yet to be convinced of the practicality of math, particularly algebra.

So SC, here's the math problem I had for the library today.
I would like to put ~3100 law books into storage. How many cubic feet will be required to store the books?

One law book is approximately 10.25" x 7" x 2".
I decided it would be most efficient to pack them in 15" X 12" X 12" boxes.

How many boxes will I need to order for the job? How much storage space will be required?

C,

My math maybe rusty but here's what I came up with. It will take ya 388 boxes to put all those books in, and you will basically need an 8'x 8' x 8' cube to put all the boxes in
