Shopping for a bridal gown may end up being one of those points that stretches my patience. Shopping isn't one of my favorite activities on most days, though I admit that when I do it, I end up browsing and looking at more than what I "need."
I've spent time looking at bridal gowns online and haven't found any that I liked everything about the gown. Strapless is "THE" look currently, so it's harder to find anything that might feel a bit more modest.
Several brides had recommended David's Bridal. So, Wednesday, I drug along SS and AW (who's getting married in October) to shop at David's Bridal in Hagerstown. It was still hard to find anything besides strapless. I did try on one dress that I really liked, except that it was a spaghetti strap with a square neckline. I like more of the rounded necklines--jewel, sabrina, bateau, portrait.
I'm not sure where I want to go shopping next. Bride Save out in Midland, TX has a good website. I'm not sure I'm ready to order a dress without trying it on, but I don't have any plans to be out in Texas in the next few months at this point.
Other suggestions for places to shop or look?

And I'm sure Earl's House of Western Wedding Wear is out of the question? ;)
E, It'd be great to have Mel's recommendations. Did she find her gown?
KCK, Yeah, Earl's House of Western Wedding Wear is probably out. :) I'm going for something a bit more church-traditional.
Can I toss in a comment?
Yeah, Earl's House is definitely out.
hahah! As great as new jeans and polos sound, I can name more than one person that wouldn't let me down the aisle wearing them! :)
I think Rose Focht (nee Garber) got hers on eBay, although we can't all have that kind of luck.
