Harry Potter and other bits

The LCPL continues to get Harry Potter distributed to its patrons. The book was waiting for me at the Purcellville library on Thursday! I only made it down to number 56 on the request list before the books was waiting for me. There are still 158 people on the request list for the book. Interestingly, an additional copy of the book showed up this week--the library went from circulating 156 copies to circulating 157 copies of the book. LCPL still has 40 copies of the audio CD that are making the rounds. I'm down to number 54 on that request list of 173 total requests. The slowest moving list is the audio cassette list with only 3 copies circulating--they haven't gotten past the first 3 on the list, but there are cancelations as people get the book or give up on waiting for the cassettes. I'm number 42 of 77 requests on that list.

I wrote about our trip to Pennsylvania this past week on our team blog--No Longer "Just Friends."

At work, there's been filming in the library this past week while I was gone. One e-mail indicated they closed the library yesterday part of the day for the filming. An e-mail today indicated yesterday was a bit hectic. Guess I'll try to hear all about it on Monday. Monday, MG starts as Technical Services Librarian. Friday is SS's last day as Technical Services Librarian. So glad SS will be around to help with the training of MG!

My parent's 35th wedding anniversary is this weekend. D's been working hard at coordinating a gift for them! Unfortunately, we won't be sending them on a cruise--as they have friends that were sent on cruises by their kids for their 35th or so anniversary.

D's birthday is Wednesday! I'm sure she would appreciate birthday wishes from all her friends (and maybe even people she doesn't know)!

I think we are going to try to catch Bourne Ultimatum this weekend. I finally watch Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremecy for the first time just about two weeks ago. (Saw JH, former Library Assistant, at the video store.) I've also read the books. I like the books MUCH better. Can't say the books and the movies have any connection after about the first 30 minutes of Bourne Identity--if that much of the movie. I can enjoy the movies as action flicks, as long as I don't get caught up in comparing them to the books.
