Wow!! I knew about the working report, but I hadn't seen Thomas Mann's response. I bet you can guess who's side I come down on. ::grin:: I think Mann makes some very good comments about how tagging just can't *replace* LCSH, but that there could be a means by which user/author/creator tagging could work WITH subject headings to lead a patron to the information they need. So I'm not the snobby cataloger who thinks tagging is a useless waste of time, though I do think subject headings (in whatever iteration you prefer) are the surest way to find what you need. 8-)
