Well, that repair didn't last very long.
By Saturday afternoon, the local stop sign had been wiped out again. The stop sign had been re-propped into its post hole and was trying to look well, but there was an 18" section of the post laying on the ground at the bottom of the sign (looked like it might've been pulled out of the ground, after the upper portion of the sign had been taken off) and one of the reflective rectangles had been completely torn off.

It's time to reinforce it with unbreakable metal. Hmm... that could mean actually killing the idiot driver. Maybe not... What I want to know, is it the same person? Someone different each time?
Can I tell you my stop sign story? It is not near as exciting.
Sarah, I'd be interested knowing the answer to those questions myself!
Susan, Of course, you may share your stop sign story!
Well, when I moved home, I noticed that one of the stop signs a mile N. of the belting company was about 2 feet shorter than the other! the wood post had been hit and broken. someone had wired the remains of the post together with electric fence wire so that it was still standing. a couple days later, I noticed that the sign itself had fallen off and was laying in the grass. the sign has been put back on the post, but is still 2 feet shorter than the other.
