Monday.
JM dropped me off at the airport to catch my 9:30AM flight. After a layover in Atlanta, I arrived in Grand Rapids as scheduled at 2:20PM. As previously arranged by e-mail, I met up with several other people arriving for the conference and we shared taxis to Cornerstone University. Checked in and found my room--right across the hall from the lobby. Met one of my suitemates. My roommate was at a pre-conference workshop and made it back to the room shortly before supper. At supper, started meeting up with numerous other friends and acquaintances from previous conferences. Also met a couple of first-time attendees. There was a welcome from the conference hosts, including the president of Cornerstone. After supper, we loaded onto busses to travel to the Gerald Ford Museum. There we received a welcome from the Mayor of Grand Rapids, George Heartwell and then had an opportunity to go through the museum exhibits.
Later, back in the dorm, I was trying to get my computer hooked-up to the wireless network--following the directions given to me. I had given my computer the network to look for, but it still wasn't finding any networks. SarahG had mentioned earlier that she had access in her room, so my roommates and I wandered up a floor to her room. While she started looking at my computer to try to figure out the problem, her roommates (whom I'd met at previous conferences) were asking about my wedding. I ran back down to my room and brought back up the small album of pictures I'd brought with me and showed them off. SarahG did get my computer connected to the network and Alison was able to check on her missing luggage.
