This week, PHC is hosting the NCFCA National Tournament. That means we have LOTS of extra people on campus (something in the neighborhood of 2,000+). Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, the library has extended hours. The main part of the library has been set-up for a "stage" and audience. We've had a couple of debate rounds and a good number of recitation/interpretive events.
The latter have been entertaining--at times to the point of being distrating. We've had abridgements of Princess Bride and Shakespeare. There have been tellings of Dr. Seuss, the Little Engine that Could, Rumplestiltskin, the "Carnival Girl" from Tales of the Resistance, "Dirty" from Tales of the Kingdom. There was also advice on guys (like to really get the attention of a guy that you are passing in the hallway--stare at him until he is past, then turn to your friends, whisper, and giggle).
