Brown

Over the last week, I've been struck repeatedly by how brown everything is in this area. I haven't kept track of how long it's been since we've gotten significant rain, but it is very evidently TOO long ago. Lawns are only green if they've been watered. The leaves on the trees are dying...and not in the brilliant fall color, just in dull browns. Some trees are even losing their leaves as well. And one person was expressing doubt as to how many pumpkins might be available this fall without any rain.

But can't really complain about the temperatures too much...this week is hovering in the high 80's to low 90's for the highs.
