Dream Driving

Driving to work this morning, I had a sudden recall of a dream I had last night.

In the dream, I was driving down a 2-lane road somewhere out in the country. The road was paved and definitely 2-lane, but had essentially no shoulders. As I was driving along the road, I found that every one else on the road was driving straight at me--in the same lane I was in--and was forcing me to pull over into the ditch, since there was no shoulder.

It suddenly occurred to me in the dream that I was supposed to be driving on the LEFT hand side of the road. I was in the U.S. as far as I know, but I was supposed to be on the LEFT. In my dream, I then began justifying how I could have gotten SO confused as to be driving on the RIGHT hand side of the road, when everyone knows you are supposed to drive on the LEFT.

So as I was driving in to work this morning, the dream was brought back to mind and I was able to reassure myself that I WAS right. All my justifications in the dream for driving on the left were wrong. (Such "brilliant" justifications as, the steering wheel is on the left, so you should be driving on the left.)
