TGM had her two month appointment around noon today. She's now 11 lbs. 12 oz. and 23" long. That is in the 76% for both weight and height. She also received a variety of vaccines in three shots and one oral dose. After her appointment, she spent more of the afternoon sleeping than normal and seems to have gone down for the night around 7:00 PM. Praying that she is feeling better tomorrow!
Tomorrow is the dedication of the Barbara Hodel Center at PHC. The completion of this building has been long-awaited--being more than three years since the ceremonial ground-breaking in spring 2006. There are still portions of the building that haven't been completed (additional dining space, board room, etc). But many portions of the college have been moved over there already--I.T., mailroom, bookstore, dining hall. This opens the potential for the library to expand, though funding limitations will prevent a full renovation with expantion until at least next summer, at least last I heard. But the new director of the library has great plans for making the most of what is being termed the "Library Study Center." I'm looking forward to seeing it!
While out shopping at a used clothing store this week, I found a ninja costume--black shirt with hood and black pants. Jer has been interested in ninjas lately. The costume is rather cheaply made and on the large size for Jer, but for only a few dollars, I figured that he would get more than enough enjoyment out of it to make it worth it. And based on his reception of it this evening, I expect it will. What I found a bit funny was the similarity in response by both JM and Jer to the costume. I initially showed the costume to JM the earlier this week when I brought it home and Jer shaw it for the first time tonight. In both cases, the shirt was unfolded and presented with little explanation other than "I thought Jer/you would like this." Both responded with a "huh/hmm" sort of look and grunt. As soon as I clarified with, "a ninja costume", their faces immediately lit up with a huge smile and pleased exclamations. Oh the joy of finding and surprising someone with the perfect gift!
On Sunday is JM's birthday. Logistics worked out for us to have Jer for the whole weekend (birthday on Sunday and Saturday instead of Monday's Columbus Day holiday). With Jer here this evening, we went out to supper using a restaurant coupon that we'd received at a baby shower. Since TGM had been pretty fussy in the time she was up this afternoon and had fallen asleep just shortly before we were planning to head out for supper, we left her at the house with David.
Happy Birthday, JM! Sorry, I haven't yet found a "perfect gift" for your birthday. Can we count TGM? You seem to like her pretty well! :-D
