Computer time is very limited and I've got better things to do while I'm on vacation seeing my family in Kansas.
I was able to watch a couple of evenings of the live broadcasts of the Reagan memorial ceremonies.
I've very much enjoyed re-acquainting myself with Kansas--the solitary driving and the flat, open spaces.
I arrived to re-experience the urgency and excitement of wheat harvest, complete with wonderful views of the sun setting behind the elevators, the flash of lighting in the distant (or not so distant storms), and the smoke-column of field fires in the distance.
But most of all has been the joy of being with my entire family once again with both of my sisters from the Dallas-area being home too.
And the sister-comparison quote of the visit:
From one of the "grandmothers" in our church where we've attended since I was five and my sister was two, "I've enjoyed watching this one [my sister] grow-up. This one [me] always had her nose in a book."

"When I knew you in Emporia, you also had your nose very close to a computer screen." dbmkjhk
Some things never change...and then I wonder why I don't have many friends. (But that could be a post unto itself.)
You know, technology is a good thing. Otherwise, I'd never keep in touch with friends when someone moves away.
