And it's Gone!

Where did my day go?

I was a bit late getting into work this morning...closer to 9:00.

When I arrived, I stopped and took the time to discuss a few things with AC. I started my computer booting up while I grabbed a hot chocolate.

When I made it to my computer, the first e-mail I read was a reminder that I had a meeting at 9:30. The time was 9:30. I grabbed my notepad, my hot chocolate and headed to the faculty meeting.

As usual, the meeting ran right up to 10:30--when chapel is over and faculty have classes to teach.

Returning to the library, I found AC, Tim, the copier rep, and a copier trainer gathered around our new copier/printer. They were in the middle of copier training. The rep said they had tried to schedule it last week, but with the weather this week, plans were messed up and this was the chance the trainer had to make it in. I hadn't heard anything about copier training (still haven't!). By the time I was there, they had already gone through most of the functions/features--practically all of which we'd already figured out--stapling, duplexing, scanning, pamphlet, etc. I think the only truly new thing we learned was the key combination to re-set the copier for the next person to log-in.

When I made it back to my computer, it was to find a reminder on my screen for an 11:00 meeting. The time was 11:00. I grabbed my notepad and headed to the I.T. assessment meeting.

That meeting didn't finish until close to 1:30.

Back at my computer, there was an e-mail conversation in progress about increasing library shelving and study space. It was to a point that it was waiting for my input. I started a reply, but found myself hungry and unable to concentrate.

About 2:00, I headed to lunch. As I sat down to eat, SS came up for a hot tea. We exchanged bad-day stories and got into a conversation about library work--ordering books, etc.

Back in the library, I finished my reply to the e-mail conversation while SS was at a meeting.

When she returned, we spent further time in conversation about various library issues--additional shelving and study space, training her on a database we use for book requests, solving an issue with another piece of software, etc.

I finished going through my e-mails for today and found that it was 5:00!

Whew! I feel like I've been busy, but can't see anything I accomplished.
