Beloit College Mindset List

For the 11th year in a row, Beloit College has put together a list of facts about the incoming freshman class--the Class of 2012--that typifies their cultural norms and knowledge. From the fact that they have already "met" their roommate on Facebook to their knowledge from an early age of Game Boy, Caller ID, GPS navigation, and IBM as a computer company. They've grown up (literally) with Harry Potter and read Goosebumps. In their political knowledge, "Clarence Thomas has alsways sat on the Supreme Court" and George Bush left office while they were still toddlers. The Warsaw Pact is only a hazy concept, personal privacy has always been threatened, and they've been taught multiculturalism all the way through school.
