TGM and Rowan

This picture was taken at the baby shower thrown by the church for both of these babies. TGM was just over seven weeks old and Rowan was eight weeks old.

TGM is continuing to grow-up. In the last couple of weeks, there have been a few times when I've seen her pulling her head away from the car seat or rocker chair where she is sitting. When I'm holding her in the sitting position, she is starting to work on balancing in that position and holding herself up.

She's smiling more readily and definitely at people. A smile or two have been caught on camera, but I don't have a picture where I can share it yet.

The Monday after we went to Renaissance Fair, she fell asleep in the car around 9:00 pm on the way home from a church activity. When we brought her into the house, we left her in her car seat figuring she'd be waking up with an hour. Instead, she slept through the night! Since then, she has been in bed before midnight on most nights. We pulled out a CD of Mozart music for bedtime (that was a gift from a friend) and put a CD player in her room. When we turn on the CD at night, we can put her in her bed before she is completely asleep and she'll go ahead and fall to sleep on her own with a minimal amount of fussing. Being able to put her down before she's completely asleep has made bedtime for her parents much less extended and therefore less trying on the patience. Being able to put her down before midnight has meant that we are able to have a bit more time for ourselves before we crash into bed.
