1. Lifting head. TGM has practiced a lot at lifting her head and pulling it forward when she's in her car seat or rocker seat. In the last week or so, I've also noticed her lifting her head off the changing table just as I'm ready to pull clothes off over her head--she seems to be helping me undress her.
2. Arching back. In the last week, TGM has started arching her back more. Primarily, this mean that we have to be more diligent in buckling her into her rocker seat or other such chairs. If we don't, we'll find her about ready to slide off the seat of the chair as she's worked her way down.
3. Applesauce. I made applesauce today! It was my first attempt at homemade applesauce. JM approves and pronounced it a success. The apples came from clogging friends. Next I'm thinking I'll have to work at canning or apple butter. For the time being, I made less than a gallon of applesauce and put some of it in the freezer. I expect it will come back out of the freezer relatively shortly as I have two guys that love applesauce.
4. All Saints Day. We attended the Jones' annual All Saints Day party this evening. We were able to learn about St. Perpetua and took "baby in a blanket" (meatball in a biscuit), since she was a nursing mother. We also got to introduce TGM to several of our friends who had not yet seen here. All the food was delicious (including salmon and rice, chicken, cheese balls and crackers, chips and dips, and chocolate gold coins)! The traditional quiz and compline were completed during the evening amid much fellowship and great conversation! Looking forward to next year!
5. Hands. TGM has started to open her hands more and working on trying to grasp objects. Earlier this week during bath time, I placed a rubber duck on her belly. In the past, she pretty much ignored the duck on her belly. This time, while she was looking at it, she reached for it with her hands and tried to grab it.
