I didn't actually lose a filling. It's a tooth that has a sizable filling on one side of the tooth, weakening the enamel. The enamel cracked and decay has worked on the other side of the tooth. On Friday, I lost the enamel on that side of the tooth. The dentist is talking a crown, since so much of the tooth will be gone, by the time he has to take out the old filling and clean-up the decay. To be continued March 15.

I've been listening to long to Dr. C. The crown is probably what you need. And Dr. C would recommend a root canal with that crown. He never does a crown without a root canal. He says if you do a crown without a root canal, inevitably you'll have to later drill through the crown and do a root canal.
I love you!
Dr. R is going to clean up the tooth and put a temporary crown on for a couple of weeks. Then he'll decide whether the root canal is needed before putting on the permanent crown.
