Donated Books and Other Notes

This afternoon, I spent about 3 hours sorting through the donation that was picked up on Wednesday. I made it through 5 boxes of the 47 donated. It would go a lot faster if I would quit taking the time to start reading every book that caught my fancy! In some ways its both the fun and dread of sorting through donated books. I get to find and enjoy pieces of books that I might otherwise never know. On the other hand, I lose track of the time and when I have to move on to something else, I feel like I've gotten almost nothing accomplished.

I have something of a goal to sort through all of the boxes by Wednesday, so that I it isn't horrendously late to include a count of the books in the acknowledgement letter that gets sent. Or at least, get through enough of the boxes that I can make a mostly accurate estimate of how many books are in the remaining boxes.

I received an e-mail announcing that The End of the Spear will be shown on Monday in a theater in the U.N. Building. Ambassadors from 191 countries have been invited to the showing.

On the same movie. Another source shared with me the Christianity Today article "Christian Studio Explains Hiring Gay Actor" (by Mark Moring, posted 1/26/06).
