Weekend Past

I had to work for three hours on Saturday afternoon. When I got home, JM had worked on laundry, worked on unpacking boxes/rearranging boxes, and other projects! We worked some more on putting away some of our many boxes of books and a couple of other things. Then we headed over to Target to pick up another curtain rod--this one to hang our quilt from BRTC.

We didn't have any extra time, but we finished getting it hung before we went out to the Melting Pot with G&SS and Jen G. We hung the quilt in our living room, where it's the first thing you see when you come in the door. It looks great! It is a reminder and testimony to what GREAT friends we have in the clogging group.

Sunday morning was church. We had a guest speaker who is preparing to go to Spain with his family to plant churches among the Muslims there.

We grabbed a Subway lunch and took it over to Market Street Coffee where we could relax, watch the snow fall, work a sudoku puzzle, enjoy our sandwiches, and a cup of hot chocolate.

Yep, there was snow here Sunday afternoon. Only about 1.5 inches total, but it made the streets a bit slick as it accumulated and wasn't getting cleared immediately. Awana ended up being canceled.

At 2:00, we headed over to the public library to catch the first of a 5-part series on forensic science being presented by a retired forensic pathologist. It was really quite interesting. He showed a video that had an overview/history of forensic science--fingerprinting, hair/fiber matching, DNA, etc. Then he answered questions and shared some stories based on his own experiences.

With Awana canceled, we made another trip to Target to return a couple of items and pick up a bunch of stuff that we were needing--some rugs for the bathroom, lamps to help light the bedrooms, and other smaller things. When we got home, we had fun unpacking it all and putting it all in its place.
