Update on my Life

I had a good birthday last week! Nothing out of the ordinary to write home about, but a whole list of people that took the time to remind me that they care and love me:
JM
Dad, Mom, SC, (and L)
D
SR
Grandma
Tom
BRTC (I get their singing 3 practice nights in a row!)

Sorry if you wished me "happy birthday" and I've failed to list you here. I appreciated very much everybody that took the time to remember!

This past weekend, we worked more on unpacking. We made it through a few more boxes. JM set-up our new scanner/printer on his computer! (His old scanner/printer didn't print. My old printer? Know what gray-scale printing is? My old printer was only red-scale printing.) When we got done, we couldn't say that we'd cleared much space, but the stacks are definitely shorter. We are looking forward to clogging friends coming over next weekend, so hopefully more of the stacks will disappear before then.

I've been getting more frustrated with all my clothes (especially casual) still being packed away in boxes. In the Parlour, I had all those clothes on plastic utility shelving, rather than in a dresser. We'd both really like to get a dresser for my clothes, but we haven't had the opportunity yet. There's a possibility that we could get a dresser from a friend, but that won't be available for another couple of months. This morning, I gave up on trying to keep clothes packed away until we get the dresser. I pulled out the utility shelving and started unpacking more of my clothes. The shelving doesn't look great and I'll still look forward to getting a dresser, but I can at least quit digging through boxes to find what I want to wear--if I have the time or can find it at all.

People keep asking if we are unpacked/settled in yet. Several times when I've been asked, someone else in the circle has remarked that it took them 3-5 years to completely unpack the last time they moved. Hmmm....since we've only have a year's lease, we may be moving before we are completely unpacked!
