Weekend

Friday afternoon, I found a gray hair on my office chair. I've been in denial for the past few years--plucking anything suspicious. But I when I lose them and find them, is it harder to ignore? My friends generously tell me my gray hair isn't noticable.

Friday evening, I attended a cast party of the church's Christmas play. They had a special video of footage edited together from the past ten years that the play has been performed, as well as the entire performance for the most recent year. It interesting to see how the play has changed and stayed the same through the years and I enjoyed watching the entire performance (a privilege I didn't manage while working backstage).

Saturday morning I slept in and then did a little bit around the house. Around noon, I went into the library and accomplished a little bit there. Later in the afternoon, I went over to SS's we had talked about watching a movie, but decided to go shopping. We picked up sundry small things at Target, then shopped Kohl's for luggage. Decided not to buy anything there, but headed to the outlet mall. We stopped by the Samsonite outlet and checked luggage there. SS wanted to stop by Bass for some socks. Walking in, we found PURPLE luggage.

OK, I know that the number one deciding factor in buying luggage should not be color, but when it's Eggplant PURPLE, how can I ignore it?? :) The set of luggage did have most of the features I was looking for. So, for less than $100, I got a 29" case, a 25" case, a 21" case, and a small toiletry bag.

After supper at Bob Evans, SS and I caught the contra-dance in P-ville. SS had never been contra-dancing, so we got there early enough for the half-hour workshop/lesson before the dance. She said she enjoyed the evening. I hope she didn't change her mind trying to get around the next day. :) Contra-dancing can leave one sore.

The Sunday morning message was given by Chaplain Gary Tingwell(sp?), an A/G home missionary working in the jails and prisons in this area of Virginia. His message of finding hope and true freedom only in Christ was an excellent reminder of how much we have as Christians.

Sunday afternoon, I did some work around the house and took a nap. In the evening, I did go into the library to work on some cataloging uninterrupted.

Today is officially a holiday--no classes and a holiday for staff. However, I decided to go ahead and open the library for a few hours today anyway. I've had students studying here since 30 minutes after I opened the library. Now if I just pull my concentration together and get some work done.
