Being Social and Un-productive

Friday evening was the most productive part of my weekend. SS and I went out to supper, then spent almost 2 hours at the storage unit going through the donation of 3,000+ items. We MAYBE made it through 1/4 of the donation--and that was only sorting things as far as periodicals, paperbacks, hardbacks, government publications, and PHC Library NEVER needs that. There are a lot of interesting items in the donation. I'm still trying to decide how I can ever fairly go through the donation to pull out what is most important to the collection.

For Saturday lunch, I went to the home of a PHC grad for a BBQ--good food, good fellowship.

Saturday evening, I met a bunch of friends from clogging and we went out to a Chinese buffet and to catch the movie Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Again, good food, good fellowship, and then a good movie. I don't think it'll be a favorite--it's just a light, sci-fi comedy.

Even though it was after midnight before I made it home, I stayed up to finish 23 Days of Terror : The Compelling True Story of the Hunt and Capture of the Beltway Snipers.

After staying up so late, I slept right through church--and I had so been looking forward to the Mother's Day service!

Because of Mother's Day, there was no Awana meeting Sunday evening. However, the Commander held a Leader's Appreciation BBQ. The BBQ was specifically to recognize the PHC student leaders, since they won't be around in 2 weeks for the grand, official awards ceremony and recognition. I attended the BBQ. Once again, good food, good fellowship.

Arriving home after the Awana BBQ, my neighbors were on their patio with friends. I wandered over and joined the group. While I was there, they served zucchini crisp with ice cream. And once more, good food, good fellowship.
