Ok, so it's been a while since I've posted anything that related directly to my life. Between travel and keeping up with work, I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about my life.
Last Thursday, I flew to Oklahoma City to represent PHC at OCHEC. My parents generously picked me up at the airport and acted as my chauffeurs for the weekend. I enjoyed getting to spend some time with them for the first time since Christmas. Saturday afternoon, my sister D joined us at the convention. Sunday morning, my parents headed home for church. D and I visited a near-by church that helps support her mission work, where she spoke during the Sunday School hour. It was the first time I got to hear her speak at a church about GFA and the first time that I had gotten to hear many of her stories from her recent trip to India. After church, we were treated to lunch by a member of the church and enjoyed a time of fellowship. She dropped me off at the airport on her way back to her home. Overall, it was truly a great weekend!
Monday, I had arranged to come in to work late, but still had to arrive in time to participate in a librarian candidate interview process. I have hope that we will have a second professional librarian working at PHC before the fall semester starts!
This week has been busy with various projects that must be done before the end of classes and the semester. The last day of classes was Wednesday. Final Exams are completed by next Wednesday. Graduation is on Saturday, May 14.
This morning, we went ahead with the upgrade of our ILL software. I really would've preferred to do it when I would've had more time to test it and when we weren't in the middle of returning all of the requests for the semester. Oh well, it seemed to go relatively smoothly and we haven't crashed & burned yet.
Before I left last Thursday, I had made arrangements for a 3,000-4,000 book donation to be picked up last Thursday & Friday and stored off-site. I haven't yet made it to check out the donation. I've made plans to have supper on Friday with SS and go together to check out the donation.
SS has arranged to receive credit for 45 hours of library work this summer for her MLS degree work. So, I get to have some free labor this summer. It should be fun and very beneficial to the library.
