BRTC in the News

Saturday night at the clogging performance, Joyce brought a copy of the latest issue of the Double Toe Times (the clogging magazine), which has an article on the BRTC's trip to Ireland this past summer.

Missy brought to the performance a whole stack of Prince William Extra sections from the Washington Post. It had several pictures from the clogging workshop last weekend (held in Prince William county). In the pictures were a number of BRTC cloggers, including me. :) The word also went out that the Loudoun Extra section would include a piece on clogging on Sunday.

I checked the Washington Post when I got into work this morning. the Loudoun Extra section does indeed have a story specifically mentioning BRTC, as well as some of the pictures from the workshop (including the one I'm in). "Clogging Goes a Step Further" (Aryanpur. 26 Feb 2006. p. LZ01.) [Login Required.]

For Tuesday night, BRTC has been asked to dress for pictures. The Loudoun Times Mirror is expected, as they want to do a piece on us for the St. Patrick's Day edition of their paper.

The sudden surge of publicity? Joyce sent out Press Releases about our beginner clogging classes starting this week, Thursday, March 2 at 7:00PM. This marks something of an anniversary, as I was part of the spring begginer class (as was JM) four years ago. Though at that time, the beginner class started the 3rd or 4th weekend of March and I was at least 3-4 weeks late in starting the class. (They normally don't let people start as late as I did, but Joyce generously gave me a catch-up lesson.)
