As Oil Prices Soar, Restaurant Grease Thefts Rise

"The value of processed fryer oil has increased, and there have been reports of thefts in multiple states."
Several weeks ago, Joyce at clogging was talking about a Florida university that was using fryer grease to make bio-diesel. We discussed the practicality of doing it ourselves (Joyce having a diesel vehicle and JM having the scientific interest). But after coming up in discussions a couple of days, the topic faded.
....Apparently others were more motivated than we were.

What Joyce had read indicated that the equipment was only around $1,000. But I haven't seen any thing that says exactly what they used and other descriptions are significantly more expensive, as you indicated.
