The 2,500 book donation from the professor has been sorted! That means most of it is sitting in boxes, but at least the boxes are labeled with what they contain.
Besides finishing the sort of Dr. A's books, I got some books cataloged this weekend. That felt good, since it has been several weeks since I spent time cataloging. Still, too much more needs to be done in acquisitions and cataloging.
Monday afternoon, I made a trip down to Alexandria to sort through and pick-up some books that were being offered by a donor. Thanks to J for going along as navigator, gopher, and mover. We picked up 15 boxes of books. Left those boxes at the storage unit while picking up at least that many boxes of periodicals to be sorted here at PHC.
For the next two days, I'll be away from the library for a book repair workshop.
I'll be back in Friday and have scheduled myself to spend the morning training a student worker to pick up some of the slack for the summer/while I hire since my library assistant resigned last week.
