What I am doing:
Sitting at home on a Friday afternoon watching a squirrel forrage in my front yard.
What I should be doing:
Wrapping up my packing to leave for the river-rafting trip in about 2 hours. And working on my preparations for next week's visit to another university as part of a TRACS accreditation team.
What I have been doing:
Monday, I worked so that students could study in the library, despite the holiday and 3-day weekend. Monday evening, I headed out to the clogging barn where BBC (yes, that's British broadcasting) filmed the group dancing "Rocky Top." They are creating a piece on homeschooling and were videoing one homeschool family who has a daughter who clogs. So really, they were filming her and the rest of us just happened to get to be extras.
Tuesday, I met the BBC crew again, as they used the library as the setting for a group interview, including another of the daughters from the family. This daughter attends PHC and they included some other homeschool college students in the group interview.
Wednesday, I stayed home to work on the TRACS preparations. Unfortunately, I never got to them. Instead, I found a book that I had really wanted to read, but that I had lost and spent the day reading that. Other than getting the book read, my day wasn't productive. Wednesday evening, JM and I headed to Leesburg and picked up some equipment and supplies for this weekend's trip.
Thursday, I was back to work in the library, except for a long lunch with JM. My office is quickly moving toward un-navigatable. Unfortunately, with plans already made for this weekend and TRACS trip next week, next weekend is the earliest I can tackle that problem.
Friday, I was into work in the morning. I started the day thinking that I would be leaving at 1:00 for the camping. But then I heard from Ee who is going on the trip, but she isn't able to join up with any of the groups caravaning down. So she is going to call me as she is leaving and we'll meet up along the way. I'm hoping we can find a place where I feel safe leaving my car until I can pick it back up on Saturday or Sunday (depending on if I can catch a ride back up with someone else).
Well, the squirrel has moved on and I have packing left to do.
