The beginning of the end of Summer

In about 50 hours, I'll be in Kansas with my family!

Before then, I need to update the Library User Guide, the Library FAQ, and the Library web site. I should also get all the PO/invoices that I have sent on to the appropriate person.

MG was in a car accident over a week ago with a driver that didn't have a license, so fled the scene on foot. She got word this week that her car was not totalled and she can expect to get it back in another couple of weeks. She seemed to have suffered no physical injuries, but she woke up this morning with neck pain. A doctor's visit brought a diagnosis of a pinched nerve and the prescription to rest for the next five days or so.

After I get back, I'll have one week to get ready for orientation and the start of the semester. New students arrive on-campus Tuesday, August 19. Coming so quickly!

I received an e-mail this week from my college roommate, Christina. It had been over a year since we'd been in touch. Since I'd last talked to her, she started dating someone, got married, and had a baby! I'm hoping to get to see her and meet her family while I'm back in Kansas.

An e-mail from my mother laid out the planned activities for the week--just the normal stuff. Nothing big, but something scheduled for every day. Then she reminded us to pack for hot weather. Temperatures 100+ predicted for their area into next week. We've barely made it into the upper 90's here. Plus we are usually working in our air-conditioned buildings during the heat of the day.

Prays for safe travels are always appreciated. D will be traveling up to see the family at the same time. Also hoping that Jer enjoys his time in Kansas and isn't too disappointed to not see any cowboys in our short time in Texas. (He's decided that they don't have cars in Texas--they all ride horses!) I'm thinking it would be fun to take him to Boot Hill, but I don't see that trip happening this time.
