Thoughts on a Summer Day

I'm enjoying summer, but it going so much faster than I would like!

I don't feel so bad about getting to work a few minutes later some days. It's wonderful to be free to leave at 5:30 (or when I've worked 8 hours) every day. It is still light when I leave work! I'm not having to stay at work until 8:30 or 9:00 two nights a week. The warm weather doesn't require heavy jackets, hats , gloves, scarves, and boots. I can walk outdoors without spending minutes just putting everything on to stay warm or clearing my car of snow or ice before I come or go.

Some people say that winter is their favorite season because the snow is so beautiful. I agree, snow is beautiful, but by the time I don't have to work, it's too dark to really enjoy it. Though under the moon (and streetlights) has its own beauty....especially where there are fields of undisturbed snow. Won't find that in the middle of Leesburg.

I just think the simplicity and long days of summer is so much nicer! Of course, I might not be so excited about summer without good air conditioning. I do count my blessings that I live where air conditioning is standard. And even works too well in some places and days.
