Weekend

Congratulations, Carrie & Josh!! God's blessings on your marriage!

My friend Carrie was married Saturday afternoon. She was radiant. The setting was beautiful. The ceremony was a joyful union with solemn reminders of what that union means.

I spent Friday evening and Saturday morning helping prepare food for the wedding reception. Then helped with food during the reception as well. After all the excitement and work, I was very ready for my bed Saturday evening.

Sunday morning, I helped with 2&3's during the church service. One of the girls was angry that her mother left her. While I was trying to calm and comfort her, she left a few marks. But they'll be gone in a couple of days. She did calm down and allowed herself to be distracted when we moved to the Bible story and snack times.

Sunday evening, Joanna took me out to supper for helping her move. Then we went to 7 Brides for 7 Brothers by the Shenandoah Summer Music Theater program. There were some significant differences between the stage and movie versions of the musical. I think I prefer the stage version. Overall, it felt more succint, kept the action moving better, and didn't leave out anything important.

Shenandoah University has a great theater! We learned that it had been built about 5 years ago. The university also has an excellent theater program and they bring in a couple of professional actors for the lead roles of the summer musicals, so the productions are all high quality.

On our way home, we stopped for frozen yougurt. The entire evening was a lot of fun! I just wished I could've enjoyed it more, as I wasn't feeling my best at the time.
