I'm visiting 5 classes this week to talk about library resources.
The first presentation this morning was for an upper-class history research class to talk about research involving primary sources.
The second presentation today was for the freshman Research & Writing class. I tried to give them an overview of the different types of resources that are available and how they can be located. All of the remaining classes this week are also Research & Writing, so I'll be more or less repeating myself.
What annoyed me during the second class was a pair of students that spent the last 10-15 minutes of the class carrying on their own conversation, rather than giving their apparent attention to what was being presented. At that point, I had gotten past the bulk I had prepared and was responding to a couple of research problems students had encountered. But I was responding to questions that everyone of those students would at some point have to deal with--how to find biographical information and how to search for the paper in the required Theology class.
I guess if I was really concerned, I should've called them on their behavior.
