The semester is rapidly winding down. Students have been celebrating the completion of finals with relief. The last final exam is scheduled for 3:00 this afternoon. There will be a mass exodus from the campus over the next 24 hours.
I stayed late on Monday to finish a project that, ideally, isn't needed--reconciling out three ILL systems. Unfortunately, with the level of ILL this semester and that is handled almost exclusively by student workers, it was a necessary project. As I compared everything still out in our three ILL systems, I dealt with over 175 requests currently in one or more of the systems. Only about 75 were in agreement in the first pass. Almost all of the rest I ended up ruling as returned, but it took a while.
But when notices went out yesterday and today, there was a much higher level of confidence that they meant something. That felt very good. Still got a back half-dozen notices that were questioned by the students.
