Students started taking final exams on Friday. They finish their exams on Wednesday and are heading home as soon as they can. I've got to work on getting all the false overdue notices settled and the books returned for all the accurate ones. Especially with ILL, it's not always easy to know which it is.
Saturday, SS and I went shopping at the outlet mall with additional stops at Ross and Michael's (the stores, not people). It was after 10:00am before we got off and we finished up about 3:45pm. Besides a dress and a pair of shoes for myself, I did manage to find gifts for three members of my family. SS also bought gifts for at least six different people. A successful shopping trip.
I went straight from shopping to a BRTC performance--Christmas in Purcellville at the Purcellville Skating Rink. There have been better performances, but it was still a lot of fun. For the group, there were technical problems as they were trying to use new sound equipment. When a couple of songs were cut from the line-up due to time, miscommunications resulted in scrambling and looking very unorganized. For myself, I was in one song that I knew, except one section that I can get when I concentrate on it. Unfortunately, in concentrating on that section, I messed up a couple of the other sections.
Immediately before the clogging performance was a jump roping performance by the Skip Wizards. I'd never seen that type of performance in person, though I had read about them and seen a couple briefly on tv. The precision was amazing and many of the tricks and routines spoke of many hours of practicing as a team.
Sunday evening, was Awana for the first time since before Thanksgiving. Next week is the last week until after the new year. The Awana year is progressing quickly!
