I finished washing pretty much all my laundry last night. Hopefully the items that are line-drying (including jeans) will be dry by the time I want to pack tonight.
I'll probably leave work early this afternoon to go ahead and work on some cleaning and packing. I always think, "oh, it won't take that long--just wash the dishes, clean-up the bathroom, pick-up my piles of papers in the living room, and pick-up my piles of clothes in the bedroom." And none of them individually take exceedingly long, but the cumulative time always seems to be more than I want to spend.
And more often than not, I get side-tracked reading something--a book, a newspaper, even junk mail. As my mother stated years ago when she caught me reading a book instead of cleaning my room, "Reading is a detriment when one is trying to clean."

I understand! I always think it'll just take 2-4 hrs. to get ready for vacations--but most of the it never does! Pack the luggage, check the oils in the car, do the dishes, vacuum (I have this thing with coming back to a sparkling room), yadeeyadeeya . . . At least we DO finally get to leave! ;D
