Iraq's flag

Iraq has a team at the weightlifting championships where the clogging group performed last night. During the parade of athletes with flags, I wondered about the Iraq flag. So this morning, a news headline about the Iraq flag over the embassy caught my eye.

One can wonder about the meaning in the new government adopting/retaining the flag of the regime that was just overthrown.
