FRIDAY
The 20-minute library orientation was held three times in two hours. Don't ever expect me to be a long-winded speaker, just that much talking left me with a bit of a sore throat for the rest of the day. The orientation sessions went well. The normal questions were asked. At least, this year, I didn't have anyone accusing the library of using an unknown, illogical system for organizing our books on the shelves. (We use the Library of Congress Classification System).
Also met with our two freshmen library assisstants for this year. Though, one of them is looking at getting another job off-campus, so we are still in limbo as to whether he'll keep his job here.
SATURDAY
Congratulations, Joli and David!
Their wedding was a beautiful outdoor affair at the mansion-sized home of friends.
It rained gently on-and-off throughout the morning. But then it quit a few minutes before the wedding and the clouds cleared off before the sun went down. The weather was rather comfortable.
Note: If you aren't interested in the style revue descriptions, skip this paragraph.
The bride was absolutely lovely in her cream-colored, full-skirted satin dress. The bodice laced up in the back and was decorated with a front-lace beaded overlay cut with a square neckline and narrow straps. Guests were welcomed with a silver ballon-covered archway over the driveway. Tall, straight branches standing about 10' out of the ground and roped with tulle and bows created an aisle for the ceremony, which was held in front of an arch covered with burgundy and navy colored flowers.
The ceremony was filled with meaning and memories. Especially personal was the blessing give by each of the fathers and the message delivered by the pastor speaking to the bride and groom personally.
It was a 4:00 wedding. I shared a ride with a couple of friends and we left for home about 9:00, after seeing the bride and groom off at the end of the reception.
On the way home, we ended up in a conversation on blogging. As all three of us have our own blogs, we discussed blog settings, changing the templates, and other blog-related topics. You can check out Sarah and Nathan's blogs (and easily guess which of the three of us is best at working with the template).
