Current Readings

What do I like to read? I like to read a variety of books, as evidenced by my current list of reading material.

Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. I just finished listening to an unabridged audio version of this well-known work. What would you classify it? Suspense? Thriller?

Service with a Smile by P. G. Wodehouse. This is the audio book I've got in my car at the moment. English humor. While I was introduced to Wodehouse initially through his character Jeeves the butler, this book features another of his characters, Lord Ickenham. This book had a reference that was fun for me: It compared the temper of one of the characters to "those winds that blow across Kansas causing the people to run down to their cyclone shelters."

The Cat Who Could Read Backwards by Lilian Jackson Braun. This is the audio book I'm listening to in the house, currently. Mystery/Detective with a cat as a primary character. This is the first book in a whole series

Shadow Rising by Robert Jordan. Fourth book in the Fantasy series Wheel of Time. I've got this book by my couch and read it as I have time.

The True Story of Bonnie and Clyde by Emma Krause Parker and Nellie (Barrow) Cowan. This biography of the notorious outlaws is written by Bonnie's mother and Clyde's sister and other close family members and friends. I started this book on my last plane trip and hope to finish it before I completely forget what I've already read.

What good books are you reading?
