BRTC @ Fall Festival

Today was the big Fall Festival at the Guthries. It was a day of games, crafts, entertainment, and food--all free. Joining the festivities at about 1:30, I arrived late in the day.

By 2:00, I was running the football toss game--try to toss the small Nerf football through a bicycle tire hanging from a saw horse. Getting the ball through once wins a prize. Everyone else gets a piece of candy.

At 3:00, I moved to the craft barn to help with the stamp craft. Pre-made were the wooden plaques, painted white, and the words "The trees praise Him" written on the plaques. Stamps with leaf designs and three colors of ink pads (red, orange, and yellow) were provided. Participants decorated their plaque using the stamps. By the time I arrived, the red and orange ink had gotten into the yellow ink pad so that it was a beatiful golden brown. They had started the morning with 250 plaques at 10AM. By 3:40, there remained no un-decorated plaques.

The BRT Cloggers were scheduled to perform at 4:00. As commonly occurs, the cloggers did not start their program until nearly 4:30 due to earlier entertainments going long. I have had better performances; just couldn't seem to stay on the correct foot at certain points. So many cloggers were able to make this performance, that I danced in fewer songs than usual. I really enjoyed being able to watch so many of the songs from the perspective of the audience.
