Stop Sign

Passing the local stop sign on my way home last night, I noticed that it had once again been accosted. This time, it didn't appear to have been plowed over, as it often appears. It was still straight at the base of the post; it was only bent from about a foot above the ground. Even then, it wasn't angled very sharply yet--just a few degrees off perpendicular. But on top of that, the square post had gotten twisted about an 1/8 of a turn.

With the sign still largely upright, I don't expect VDOT to be showing up terribly soon. I do expect that the slanted sign will get caught by the next truck or two making too sharp a turn. That'll put the sign back on the ground and up the priority on VDOT's repair list.

That poor stop sign! What a life it leads.
