It rained and poured again all day yesterday. Students were talking about putting their umbrellas in front of them to cut through the weather to the main building and to keep dry (or at least drier). Based on what I saw, I don't think it was possible to go out without getting significantly wet.
There were reports through out the day that roads were closed due to flooding. I heard of closings south of Purcellville, between Purcellville and Charlestown, WV (NW of Purcellville), between Sterling and Lovettsville (E-NE of Purcellville). I was reminded once again to be thankful for a short and uneventful drive between work and home.
It dawned on me yesterday that I hadn't cataloged any books yet in September. JH normally did most of the cataloging. Since he left, I hadn't made the time to do that. So I worked on cataloging books yesterday.
Over the summer, I had decided that it would promote awareness of what the library has if we could choose a topic and display books on that subject each month. I really wanted to show-off a collection of presidential election books in October (the month before the election). Since the end of September and the beginning of October go hand-in-hand, I took the time to create a list of books from our collection on presidential elections and had a student pull the books from the shelf.
When the electricity went off around 7:30, I decided it was time to go home.
