My trip to St. Louis this weekend went well.
I left work about 1:00 on Thursday to catch my flight to St. Louis through Detroit. (I can't remember the last time I had a direct flight anywhere.) Arrived in St. Louis after 8:00. Picked up a rental car and made it to cousin Vi's place by 9:30.
The training Friday was informative and interesting. Not much I can directly use in the library. If I get my resume in, I may get invited to visit other libraries as part of accreditation visits. Training was finished by 3:00.
Took a few minutes to visit the library at Midwest Theological Seminary. They have both English and Korean works, as the majority of their students are South Korean.
Then I called some other relatives to see if I could visit. I found out that one of my relatives (great uncle?) had died at 5:00 that morning. (He had been diagnosed with abdominal cancer two weeks earlier.) I was able to visit with the family; more of them than expected, since his kids and others had arrived in the past week. While the family was feeling loss, they were not without hope and were sharing their memories of a lifetime and of the last few blessed days.
Stayed with Vi again Friday night and visited with her some more Saturday morning before catching a 1:30 flight back through Detroit to land in DC around 6:45.
Now, I'm off for the first Awana meeting of the school year.
