Ireland Trip

Last week was the deadline for deposits for BRTC's Ireland trip. A few weeks before that, I had invited my youngest sister to join me on the trip. She has never been a fan of flying or being away from Mom and Dad for long periods, so I was disappointed, but not surprised, when she didn't express a lot of enthusiasm for the trip and my parents decided she was probably too young (she'll be 11 in May) to really appreciate the trip. However, I was pleasantly surprised when, the week before deposits were due, my parents did decide to join the trip.

As of the Tuesday evening that deposits were due, there were about 4 spaces that hadn't been confirmed with deposits, but the organizers were confident that they would be filled, making a total of 29 cloggers & family members filling our tour bus.

I haven't heard confirmation that the tickets have been purchased, but the plan is to depart Thursday evening, Aug 4 and catch a flight back from Ireland on Aug 14. I'll be back in time for fall student orientation and the first week of classes at PHC.

I'm really looking forward to seeing southern Ireland, learning more about forms of Irish dance, and perhaps performing at an Irish festival.
