I made a personal acquaintance with the Green Valley Book Fair yesterday afternoon. A family business with a unique schedule (open only 15 days at a time, six times a year), Green Valley provides any book lover with hours of pleasure and temptation. Their more than 40,000 titles are all at least 60% off retail and appeal to every interest. From children to adults, from history through current issues, in English or Spanish or learn a foreign language, in print or audio. At more than 25,000 sq. ft., the building is warehouse-sized. That is quickly forgotten as one becomes engrossed in the books that are organized in piles on wooden tables and bookshelves in every direction.
Located near Harrisonburg, it was close to a 2-hour drive from here. But having spent better than three hours shopping and coming away with over 100 books for the library, I found it well worth the time and effort.
SS, thanks for sharing the experience!
