Election Reflections

For as many personal accounts of waiting in lines to vote and horror stories in the news of lines that were hours long, I probably took my voting experience a bit casually. As I was leaving work at the end of the day to go vote, a co-worker suggested I might be hitting the polls at one of the busiest times and might have a wait. It took me longer to get home from the polling location than it did to vote...and I only live about 4 blocks from the location.

The election is over. Life is moving on. I'm glad that Bush was re-elected.

The 90+ students that went to work on campaigns just over a week ago are back. They are just coming off the thrill of the wins and recovering from the exhaustion of the long days. I overheard a conversation at lunch of students discussing the possibility of getting tickets to inaugural balls.

There are a variety of stories indicating that our students and graduates are getting into places that matter and making a difference--and I know that I don't hear most of the stories. Hopefully some these stories will make their way onto the PHC website and into the next issue of the Trumpet of Liberty.
