The opening night of performance for Eden Troupe's production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing has come and gone. Overall, it went very well. I missed about half of the play before intermission, but of what I saw, the only truly noticable problem was an extended scene change. The first character on-stage after the change added a humorous ad-lib with "Thank heavens it is day at last."
Afterwards, everyone was laughing (including the directors) and looking forward to tomorrow's performance. The stage crew was, understandably, the least happy group and were staying later to make adjustments to props and scene changes. I'm thankful not to be dealing with that this time.
