After Surgery Update

My mom was in surgery for most of seven hours today, but is now out. She is doing fine, but isn't out from under the anesthesia yet.

A big praise! The doctors did not have to remove any portion of her lung! Initially they had suggested that they would remove the lower left lobe of the lung and at one point said they might have to remove the entire left lung. Instead, they were able to perform a "brochial repair"--cutting into the bronchial tube and removing the calcified pieces. All of the lymph nodes in the area appear to be fine. It will be at least 24 hours before they will get any results back regarding what has been removed.

My mom is expected to be in an ICU room for "several days" and then in a regular room for 4-5 days.

Thank you for your supporting prayers!!
