Darwin Day Celebration

Darwin Day Celebration: an International Recognition of Science and Humanity

I got an e-mail in my work account reminding me that February 12th is Darwin Day and encouraging celebration and recognition of this day.

I believe in science. Science has given us been numerous technological advancement. Science has also developed many theories that help us understand our world better--what makes weather, earthquakes, volcanoes, and so much more.

I also believe in humanity. Murder and abortion are wrong. Racial discrimination is wrong.

I just can't agree with the portion of the mission statement that reads

"...Science is our most reliable knowledge system. It has been, and
continues to be, acquired solely through the application of human curiosity and
ingenuity..."
