Yesterday morning, I brought my "new" Palm pda into work--excited to get it updated with the more recent back-up from my laptop.
I booted up my laptop and tried to synch the laptop and pda. No go. The software made it part-way through the process and died. It offered to send a report to Microsoft for me. (Not a particularly enlightening error message, if there is such a thing.)
I re-booted and tweaked and tried it 2-3 more times with the same results, before I gave up and sent an e-mail to I.T. explaining the problem as best as I could. After I sent the e-mail, I remembered that the synch software that was crashing had a log function. So I opened it up and turned on the User Log function. Since I was in the software, I used the "Synchronize" button in the software to start the process, rather than using the synch button the base for the Palm.
It worked!!
This evening, I just re-synched my palm. I tried the button the base of the Palm just to see if it would work and it did!
I may not be able to do much about my Mom being in surgery for seven hours 2,000 miles away, but I know what I'm supposed to do this weekend. :)
