Student Life Center Named for Trustee Barbara Hodel
In August, PHC Board of Trustee member Barbara Hodel fell down a flight of stairs in her home and is now paralyzed from the neck down, but is still undergoing rehabilitation. The Board of Trustees voted to name the new student life center in her honor.
I find the pictures accompanying this press release interesting because I was "there" for all of the ones taken on-campus.
At the dedication and ribbon-cutting for Founders Hall, I was sitting with the faculty in the front and off to the right from the picture (her left as she's cutting the ribbon). Yes, there were security everywhere on-campus that day. The officer in the background of the picture was I believe one of four standing in front of the main entrance.
At the ground-breaking for the student center, I'm toward the back of the crowd in a pink sweater. I didn't remember what I was wearing, but I remembered where I was standing and was able to pick myself out in the picture.
And while I wasn't in the immediate vicinity when the last picture was taken, it is a very familiar sight--the outline of the building growing on campus.
