Mom's Surgery Updates

Not much more news since I updated my previous post this morning as Mom was going into surgery.

D's version of the prayer request.

D's slick way for you to get updates.

I just spoke with my Dad a few minutes ago over my lunch. It's been 2.5 hours since surgery was scheduled to start (and is assumed started) and nothing has been heard. Dad is assuming that this means that the attempt to remove the object through her mouth was unsuccessful and they have had to go the route of surgery. There is a possibility that the entire left lung will need to be removed, rather than only one lobe, as the object is at the intersection of the two lobes. Again, this is entirely dependent on what is found during surgery.

Update 2:40. Heard from the surgeon. Removing the object through the mouth did not work. They are beginning the surgical procedure.

Update 6:00. Have not heard any further updates from the surgery. One of Mom's friends has been at the hospital all day with my Dad and L. One of Dad's cousins was expected to stop by at some point. Their pastor was up there for the afternoon at least. Aunt Joyce was able to take the afternoon off to take Grandmother up, so I'm guessing they are probably still there. D would like to go home for the weekend, but there are certain situations and responsibilities that must fall into place and be addressed before she will be free to leave for the weekend. She would appreciate prayer for that.

Please continue praying.
